Crater Lake National Park Long Weekend

Crater Lake National Park in Oregon is in the Cascade Mountain Range and features the deepest lake in the United States with a beautiful blue color. The 30-mile loop shown above follows the PCT for 16 miles through old growth forest and then heads over to the rim of Crater Lake. You are not allowed to camp along the rim of the lake, but there are plenty of places to camp along the rest of the route. The route does go through a burned area though, which offers little shade on a hot, sunny day. There are possibilities to shorten this loop.
