We completed the PCT from Mexico to Canada! Here are some stats:
- It took us 142 days, from May 3 – September 21, 2018.
- We walked across the Canadian border on our 5th wedding anniversary.
- We hiked every open mile–no skips, no flips.
- Including water stops and fire detours, our GPS clocked 2,765 miles hiked and 450,263 feet of total ascent.
- 3 countries.
- 3 states.
- 24 resupply shipments enabled us to eat self-dehydrated vegan meals the entire hike.
- 14 rattle snakes.
- 7 black bears.
- 2 angry skunks.
- Countless lizards, marmots, pikas, and deer.
- 4 pairs of shoes each.
- 0 blisters for Tim, several for Renee.
- 0 pain killers.
- 6 zero-mile days.
- 0 nights in hotels/motels/hostels/etc.
- Several new friends.
- One amazing adventure.
Hope we didn’t bore you with the numbers. Couldn’t help it — stats are what we do (we’re an engineer and scientist).
