PCT Day 119: Mile 2193.0 to 2218.7

August 29th, 2018

Five miles into today’s hike we hit a pit toilet. I was excited to use it, but Renee prefers to do her business in the woods. We have other preferences on trail that differ: I like to wake up as early as possible, and Renee likes to sleep in as late as possible. I drink little water while hiking, but Renee loves drinking lots of water all the time. Lastly, Renee “goes berries for berries”, while I get less excited about most berries with the exception of black berries. Renee had a lot of chances to pick blueberries and huckleberries today. She convinced me to partake in the feast, and they were pretty good. Our campsite tonight is crowded again–nine tents. Obviously, we’re still in a dense bubble, but there is a town tomorrow that we aren’t going into so we hope it will thin out a bit.
