This morning we picked up our resupply package at the post office in Idyllwild, CA. Then we had a challenging ascent to get back up to the PCT. We were rewarded with views of the smogy inland empire. A 10 mile stretch of the PCT is closed due to a 2013 fire, so we had to detour around it by hiking about 15 miles on other trails/roads (down down down yesterday and up up up today) plus a hitchhike. We set up our tent above the clouds at about 8300 feet with a great view of sunset.
