We woke up this morning to the sound of rain. We ate Cocoa Puffs with coconut milk and drank some coffee in the tent until the rain turned into more of a mist. (We ate 22 servings of Cocoa Puffs in 2 days. Tomorrow we’re back to overnight cold soaked oats.) It was cold and cloudy/misty/rainy all day. We climbed for 15 miles. During lunch we decided it was a good idea to dry out our wet, soggy feet/socks/shoes to avoid blisters and trench foot. Turns out that was a bad idea because our feet got way too cold. They recovered, and we remembered that wet wool still keeps you warm. When we got over 6,000 feet, the rain turned to SNOW. We also got some hail. Both were short lived and melted right away. We heard lots of marmots whistling to each other. We made sure to eat our daily handful+ of blueberries. We descend back into the forest and are camped at 4,000 some feet. The weather is a bit warmer down here but still very wet. Only 3 more days of rain in the forecast…
