PCT Day 30: Mile 517.6 to 541.5

June 1st, 2018

We woke up early this morning to cross the desert along the Los Angeles aqueduct. We knocked out 17.5 flat, waterless miles by noon. We got lucky that it wasn’t too too hot today. We saw lots of Joshua trees and jack rabbits. We took a long siesta under a bridge. (The only shade in sight.) Then we climbed back up into the mountains passing through a wind farm. We also saw lots of solar panels in the distance. The desert has definitely been very sunny and very windy. Only about 200 more miles until we’re out of the dry, hot desert and into the high Sierras.
