We had a big climb this morning before a lot of descending to the town of Tehachapi where we resupplied. Right at the top of the climb some people had set up trail magic that included drinks, fresh fruit, chairs, and umbrellas. It was magical. As we descended, it got hot and difficult, but we survived. As we got to the trailhead to hitch to town, we found trail angel Coppertone, with more trail magic: root beer, cookies, and more fruit. It was great! Then we hitched to town, got our resupply box, had Thai food, and headed back out to the trail. We did just one more mile before setting up camp in the middle of a massive wind farm. We’re cowboy camping again–hopefully it stays dry this time.
