June 3rd, 2018
We are currently on the driest section of the PCT according to the water reports. Today was a hard day. The high was 99 degF. The hottest day we’ve had so far. We were fully loaded with 8 days of food, we had to carry water for 17 miles, and we had a big climb. We took a long siesta under a Joshua tree partway up the climb. We ran into two of our trail friends at the top of the climb and hiked with them for the rest of the day. We finally made it to water at dusk and set up camp.
