We did a big day to get to Kennedy Meadows, the unofficial end of the desert and start of the Sierra’s. Yay! The desert has been beautiful but hot, dry, and hard. Climbing in the Sierra’s will be worse, but there should be plenty of water and less heat. We’re excited for the change. We have been able to see snow-capped peaks in the distance for a few days, and a few days from now we’ll be among them. Our plan is to spend at least one “zero” (non-hiking day) resting up here and sorting our gear for what’s ahead before we head back out.
