PCT Day 40: Mile 704.6 to 724.2

June 11th, 2018

We slowly climbed from 6,000 to 10,500 feet today. We had a full load of 11 days of food, which felt quite heavy. Luckily there were plenty of streams, so we didn’t have to carry much water. We saw our first marmot of the trip. We are now carrying a bear canister for our food. A lot doesn’t fit yet, so we are hanging it in a tree using the counterbalance method while we are in the national forest. We aren’t too worried about bears, but we are making sure to follow all the rules. 🙂
