PCT Day 42: Mile 745.3 to 766.3

June 13th, 2018

We felt the elevation today and yesterday. We were tired and a bit light headed/dizzy. Tomorrow we detour to hike to the top of Mount Whitney, the highest point in the lower 48. Sixteen miles round-trip without a pack doesn’t sound too bad. Hopefully we survive the elevation. We saw a coyote, deer, and marmot today. We had a snack at a spot where we camped in 2015 and found the piece of rope Tim lost high in a dead tree while trying to hang food. 🙁 We made it into to Sequoia National Park. We soaked our feet in an icy stream midday. We are camped near a meadow and stream with a view of Mount Whitney. Our food is in a bear locker.
