We decided to walk a half day today so we could camp at Rae Lakes, which we remembered was one of the most beautiful areas during our 2015 Sierra hike. First, we had to get over Glen Pass, which was easier than Forester yesterday, but still a hard climb with snow on the descent. When we got to Rae Lakes we found a beautiful spot near the trail to eat, swim, rinse our clothes, and hang out as we watched hikers go by. Lots of our trail friends joined us for a few minutes or a few hours to chat and catch up. After the half day today, we’ll have to stick to ~18 miles a day from now until our next resupply so we don’t run out of food.
