Today we woke up early to hike 8 miles by 9:45 am to catch a ferry to Vermilion Valley Resort to pick up our resupply package. We hung out at VVR all day eating food and drinking beer and are spending the night. We met a nice couple who drove up here for the weekend who supplied most of the beer. The WiFi was mostly broken, but we were able to get Facebook messenger to work in order to plan a meetup with some friends from Sacramento this weekend. We did the last 180 miles from VVR to Kennedy Meadows in fall 2015, so it has been fun reminiscing about that trip. Fall was definitely the easier season for hiking–no snow, no flooded trails, and no mosquitoes.
