PCT Day 53: Mile 914.1 to 926.1

June 24th, 2018

We spent the morning hanging out with Kate and Jen before seeing them off a little after noon. Then we hiked over Thousand Islands Pass, which was definitely the easiest Pass yet. As we walked we could see smoke from a forest fire south of us, and over the course of the day the wind blew the smoke into the valley we were hiking through until it got very thick. Lots of people were wearing bandanas over their faces to filter the smoke. Since we’re walking North and the fire is to the South, we should be fine. We saw a crew of volunteers riding horses who were clearing downed trees from the trail. For dinner we had spinach and bean ramenera with Fritos on top. Yum!
