PCT Day 55: Mile 942.5 to 962.8

June 26th, 2018

We got a late start leaving the Yosemite campground today because we decided to wait for the restaurant to open for coffee and second breakfast… And third breakfast. It was great. Shortly after getting on the trail we stopped to swim in the Tuolomne River and wash our clothes. By 11:30 am we had barely hiked 3 miles! We picked it up in the afternoon and evening. As we walked through Yosemite we agreed that King’s Canyon is the better all-around national park. The views are just as amazing, but in King’s Canyon the crowds are nonexistent. Even in the wilderness Yosemite is crowded. We had dinner at a beautiful lake called Miller Lake, which reminded us of Northern Wisconsin. Then we hiked on a few more miles before setting up camp just after sunset.
