PCT Day 56: Mile 962.8 to 984.0

June 27th, 2018

We had a lot of steep ups and downs and stream crossings today. We hiked over two passes. Benson Pass was full of mosquitoes, so I didn’t even take my pack off when I got there. Normally we hang out at the passes for a while eating and looking at the views. Seavey Pass was in the afternoon and had a nice lake near the top. The passes today did not have the quite the amazing views as the passes in Kings Canyon NP. We had a Coors Light with lunch and took a little snooze. I fell down twice today and Tim once on the sandy Yosemite granite. I think it’s time for new shoes. We are both on our second pair now. Plus Tim’s are starting to get holes. We got to camp in time to watch the full moon rise.

  1. Wish you always had more pictures of the scenery along the way and stream crossings. Need mosquito headnet. You’ve seen nothing yet!

    • There aren’t many people in northern Yosemite N.P. Offials used to take problem bears There! Use caution as you approach Sonora Pass — steep snow slopes.
