PCT Day 58: Mile 1008.7 to 1030.8

June 29th, 2018

This morning we watched sunrise from the tent while eating breakfast. We don’t set an alarm, but Tim always manages to wake up before me and make breakfast for us while I get to sleep in a bit. Lucky me! 🙂 It got below freezing last night. It was cold and windy to start the day, but we had amazing views all morning. 360° of mountains. Since leaving Yosemite, there has been more red/black volcanic rock in addition to the granite. There were lots of snow patches covering chunks of the trail which slowed us down a bit. We crossed a paved road and encountered the first trail magic since the desert! Beer and chips.
