PCT Day 66: Mile 1140.9 to 1157.3

July 7th, 2018

This morning we watched sunrise over Lake Tahoe from our tent. The colors were awesome. We hiked by a lot of wildflowers today, which has been typical lately. Jen and Bernie drove from Sacramento to meet us on the trail again. Jen brought fruit, bread, and avocados. Yum! They hiked with us for a bit. Then we all went to Truckee and met Hillbilly and his girlfriend for beer and Indian food.

  1. How was the snow between Squaw and highway 80? I’ve heard there are some scary traverses across steep snow-covered slopes.

    • Hi Elly! The snow was fine. But, notice that we did this hike in 2018 (the date is at the top of every post–we’re posting these updates exactly one year after we wrote them). It sounds like 2019 hikers might have had it worse, but we don’t know for sure because we’re in Germany now instead of on the trail 🙁
      Thanks for reading 🙂
