PCT Day 67: Mile 1157.3 to 1179.6

July 8th, 2018

We slept near interstate 80 last night so it was a bit noisy but not too bad. We woke up, had breakfast with cowboy coffee (thanks Jen!), and took our time getting started. The terrain is much easier now than it was in the high Sierra’s, so we walk a lot faster. That means we can start later, take longer breaks, and still get plenty of miles done each day. We have seen beautiful wildflowers for the past several days and today was no exception. As we were making dinner our friend Dirty Money (aka Barbara) caught us for the first time in 500 miles. The reunion was great–hopefully we’ll hike near her for a while.
