We saw our first bear of the trip today! It ran across the trail ~25 yards in front of us while we were hiking. Very exciting! Today we descended most of the day to below 5,000 ft — the lowest we’ve been since the desert. We went into Sierra City to pick up our resupply packages including a new tent and new hiking poles for Tim.
