PCT Day 69: Mile 1198.0 to 1219.7

July 10th, 2018

We started the day with a tough climb, but it was nothing like the difficult climbs we were doing a few weeks ago. We swam and cleaned off in a lake at around 10, but before we knew it that turned into multi-hour lunch break. It was pleasant. We had another climb after lunch, and then it was mostly downhill to our campsite by a spring. We met a volunteer who adopted this section of the trail and was out doing maintenance. He was very friendly but didn’t have any food for us. We saw a small buck as we were eating dinner. We had taco Mac with Fritos on top. Yum! The small buck just came back and is spending some time hanging out in our campsite, about 5 feet from the tent.
