We had breakfast at JJ’s Cafe in Old Station before we hit the trail this morning. Then, we took a detour through a 2,000 foot long lava tube. We finally got to hiking at 10:00 am. The landscape has become very volcanic recently. But, it has also gotten hot and dry. We are back to checking the PCT Water Report and making sure we are carrying enough to drink until the next source. In a lot of ways, the terrain feels like the desert again. Also, we saw our 13th rattle snake of the trip.
