Today we woke up to a lot of smoke in the distance. The smoke stuck around for most of the day obscuring our views of the mountains around us. We stayed above 6,000 feet all day, so the heat was much better than it has been the last couple of days at lower elevation. It was still more than hot enough to swim though. We took a nice, long break at a lake. The water was warm enough to stay in for awhile, unlike some of the rivers we have been in recently. We also rinsed our clothing. We felt surprisingly clean for the rest of the day.
