There were no lakes near the trail today, so there was no swimming. We took a nice siesta anyway and napped near a creek. The wildfires burning all around us have really filled the sky with smoke. That has made the views less spectacular, but the smoke usually thins in the evening so the mountains in the distance can make a brief appearance. This evening we found a great campsite on a ridge above a valley. As we headed to bed we could see the smoke blowing in and filling the valley below. Dinner was bean and veggie ramen with curry flavoring–yum.
