We are camped just past the 1,600 mile mark. The miles are starting to fly by. We are hearing of a lot of injuries lately. We are also hearing of people getting sick – Nora virus, giardia, stomach flu, food poisoning. There have also been some people who have decided to leave the trail in NorCal. We are fortunately still happy and healthy. We are enjoying the Trinity Alps. The mountains around us are much more majestic than the rolling, tree-covered mountains of the past few weeks. There have also been a lot of lakes. Today we took a late lunch at a lake and went for a swim. There is still plenty of smoke in the air from the nearby fires.
