Having breakfast already made when you wake up in the morning is so convenient on the trail. Simple cinnamon sugar overnight oats is tasty but easy to prepare both before and on the trail!

Ingredients (Serves 2-3 People):

  • 1.5 cups old-fashioned oats (not instant oats)
  • 1/3 cup raw sunflower seeds
  • 1/3 cup raw pumpkin seeds
  • 1.5 Tbsp flax seeds
  • 1.5 Tbsp brown sugar (more as desired)
  • 1.5 tsp cinnamon
  • 1.5 cups water to rehydrate (water does not need to be exact)
  • Talenti jar for overnight soaking (or other sealable container)

Before the Trail:

Combine oats, seeds, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a bag. Vacuum seal bag if not eating soon.

On the Trail:

Before bed: Combine oat mixture and water in a Talenti jar. Shake or mix. Seal jar and head to bed.

In the morning: Stir and enjoy.

Tips:

  • Could be cooked in the morning rather than soaked overnight. Add more water if cooking though.
  • Old fashioned oats are less processed than instant oats, keeping you full longer.
  • Substitute other seeds/nuts as desired.
